Grow It! Try It! Like It! is a USDA project that I provided editing and creative writing talent. Released in July 2010, it is everything I envisioned this piece could be: beautiful and effective! It is a wonderful resource for introducing fruits and vegetables to young children. And a bonus - it is a delightful trip to an imaginary farm where delicious fruits and vegetables are grown. Find it at http://1.usa.gov/rPuVEe and read the SNE rave review at http://bit.ly/w3Iaou.
Raising the Bar on Nutrition Education Tools
See the Difference Nutrient Bar Graph Cards (Washington State Dairy Council) is an example of how a nutrition education resource bounds to the next level when creative, dedicated minds collaborate. I was honored to work with Martha Marino and her team at WSDC. Read the highly positive review in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior here and order a set from WSDC – www.eatsmart.org – recently revised to reflect Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2010 and MyPlate.
Nutrition infused with Taste and Activity!
Nutrition 101 A Taste of Food and Fitness – is a 10 hour training resource I developed for the National Food Service Management Institute. Basic nutrition concepts are infused with tasting activities and physical activity boosters. Approved for 10 hours of credit by School Nutrition Association, I have facilitated this training at various locations across the nation and am currently taking the course online.
